Angels acquire Gillaspie from White Sox for infield depth

The Los Angeles Angels acquired infielder Conor Gillaspie from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash.

Gillaspie, designated for assignment July 19, will help fill in for injured third baseman David Freese (broken index finger) with the Angels.

In 58 games this season, Gillaspie is hitting .237 with three homers and 15 RBI.
