Aberdeen thumps Ross County to move level at the top

Aberdeen, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Aberdeen moved level on points at the top of the Scottish Premier League standings on Saturday with a 4-0 drubbing of Ross County at the Pittodrie Stadium.

Coming off a 2-1 loss to Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup, Aberdeen hoped to bounce back in front of the home fans and did just that, getting off to a quick start with a goal from Adam Rooney after 12 minutes.

The hosts doubled their lead five minutes into the second half through Peter Pawlett and Shaleum Logan made it 3-0 just past the hour mark. David Goodwillie put the finishing touch on a dominating performance with a fourth goal five minutes from time.

The result sends Aberdeen level on points with Celtic at the top of the table, while Ross County remains rooted to the bottom of the pack with just 12 points.

In Saturday's other fixture, Hamilton and Kilmarnock played to a scoreless draw.
