Poll: Most Americans against Obama's refugee plan

A new poll found that most people disapprove of President Obama's plans to accept up to 10,000 Syrian refugees this year, with Republicans overwhelmingly opposed to it.

Fifty-six percent of respondents said they oppose accepting Middle Eastern refugees in light of last week's terrorist attacks in Paris, but 41 percent approve the executive decision, according to an NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll taken Nov. 15-17.

Among Republicans, 80 percent disapprove of the move compared with 31 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of independents.

Since Monday, two-thirds of state governors have pulled their support for Obama's plan to resettle refugees from Syria and neighboring countries.
