Former D.C. mayor just made a small comeback

Former Washington, D.C., Mayor Vincent Gray won the Democratic primary for Ward 7 in the District late Tuesday.
The win was a downgrade for the once scandal-ridden mayor. He had held the council seat prior to being promoted to council chair and then successfully winning a four-year term as mayor.
Gray was beaten by Democrat Muriel Bowser in the 2014 primary in the midst of a four-year investigation into possible abuse of campaign finance laws. Charges were never filed against Gray.

The former mayor was able to beat incumbent Democrat Yvette Alexander. Bowser had endorsed Alexander in the race.
