Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s new eyeglasses aren’t just a new look — they have a special lens that’s used to treat double vision, eye doctors told The Post.

Clinton, recently treated for a blood clot near her brain after a fall, wore the Fresnel lens to aid her left eye during the Benghazi hearing.

“This kind of prism helps for people who are experiencing double vision,” said Dr. Vike Vicente, a pediatric ophthalmologist in Bethesda, Md.

“Anybody who’s had a head injury, as the Secretary of State did, it could affect the way your eyes move,” he said.

“She’ll be wearing these glasses instead of her contacts for a period of time because of lingering issues stemming from her concussion. With them on she sees just fine,” State Department spokesman Philippe Reines said Friday morning, after the Post wrote about Clinton’s new specs.

He added that Clinton “got a kick” out of seeing a light-hearted NY Magazine photo-essay of her various glasses-wearing poses during recent Senate testimony – which he said she saw “crystal clear.”
