Vanilla Ice opens up on 'mess' of an arrest

Vanilla Ice, aka Rob Van Winkle, went on "Good Morning America" to address his recent arrest in connection with a home burglary telling Lara Spencer that “it’s just a mess” of a situation that was “blown out of proportion.”

On Feb. 18, the rapper turned DIY host was charged with burglary and grand theft after a foreclosed house near a home he was renovating was robbed. While he’s reportedly cooperating with police, he wasn’t able to get into details.

“That’s all I can say about it right now. It’s just a mess and I’m dealing with it,” Van Winkle said.
Van Winkle was on "GMA" to promote the fourth season of his DIY Network series, "The Vanilla Ice Project," which was filming at the time of the incident.

The channel released an initial statement saying they were looking into it but has not taken any action in the matter. His show returns on Mar. 8.
