Following injuries to opposing players in each of their past two home games, the St. Louis Rams on Sunday took a preventative measure to address the safety concerns.

The concrete surface that circles the field at the Edward Jones Dome was covered by a blue rubber padding in St. Louis' first home home since Reggie Bush of the San Francisco 49ers suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Bush was hurt when he lost his footing on the concrete at the end of a punt return and skidded into the wall feet-first on Nov. 1. Bush reportedly is planning to sue the St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority for dmages incurred on the play.

One week earlier, Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown was briefly forced to exit a game at St. Louis when he hit his shoulder against a padded wall at the end of a scramble when he couldn't slow down on the concrete.
