The New York Yankees had big shoes to fill when former assistant general manager Billy Eppler left the organization to become the GM for the Los Angeles Angels.

On Sunday, it was reported that they have at least filled his role -- albeit without his title.

Tim Naehring will assume Eppler's duties. Naehring, like Eppler, has a scouting background and will likely be Brian Cashman's right-hand man for all evaluations moving forward.
