The Chicago White Sox have placed pitcher Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list because of a muscle strain in his right arm.

Floyd exited Saturday's game against Tampa Bay after just 2 2/3 innings because of the injury. He was charged with two runs on two hits and two walks in Chicago's 10-4 loss.

The 30-year-old right-hander is 0-4 with a 5.18 ERA in five starts this season.

Chicago recalled pitcher Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the roster spot. Heath, a 27-year-old right-hander, appeared in one game for the White Sox earlier this month. He allowed a run on a hit and two walks in 1 2/3 innings on April 13 against Cleveland.
