Desharick Guidry scored 16 points to lead four McNeese State players in double figures in a 75-71 Southland Conference victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday night.

The Cowboys (7-7, 1-3), who had lost their last four games, trailed 25-17 with 8:11 remaining in the first half. But a 3-pointer by Ledrick Eackles started them on a 22-10 run over the remainder of the half for a 39-35 lead.

McNeese State never trailed in the second half. The Islanders (1-12, 0-3) trimmed a 10-point lead to two, 52-50 with 11:07 left, but another 3-pointer by Eackles started the Cowboys on an 11-2 run.

Eackles finished with 15 points, Kevin Hardy had 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, and Craig McFerrin had 11 points for McNeese State.

Will Nelson scored 24 to pace Texas A&M-CC, which has no seniors on its roster. Johnathan Jordan added 17 points and nine assists.
