Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has a chip fracture in his right foot, the team said Tuesday.
Bryzgalov has already been ruled out for Thursday's game at Toronto and is officially listed as day-to-day following an MRI that revealed the fracture.
The Flyers suffered a 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Monday, with Bryzgalov allowing four goals on 14 shots before being pulled for an extra attacker late.
Bryzgalov, who signed a nine-year contract worth $51 million in the offseason, carries a 2.46 goals-against average with six shutouts this season and has been outstanding in March, posting a 10-2-1 record in his last 14 games.
For his career, the Russian has 188 wins and a 2.52 GAA in 383 games for the Anaheim Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes and Flyers.
