“Empire” co-stars, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard hit the stage together to present the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards. But while presenting on stage, Henson appeared to be a bit tongue tied as she read her lines from the teleprompter.

She awkwardly told Howard, "You make me nervous.”

Then things got weird.

Howard kissed Henson’s check, however she did not welcome the kiss. Instead, viewers saw her wipe her check clean and roll her eyes right before Howard opened the envelope to reveal the winner, unaware of her reaction.

The Twitterverse took notice of the odd interaction between the co-stars.

The duo then went on to present Supporting Actress for a Limited Series or Movie, during which Henson slightly corrected Howard when he read the introduction. Regina King of “American Crime” won in that category and Henson greeted her with a warm hug as she took the stage.

Henson was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series but she lost to the star of “How to Get Away With Murder,” Viola Davis.
