As Mother Nature continued to batter the Northeast with snow this week, one snowplow driver in New Jersey had an unexpected impediment during cleanup efforts.
A massive sinkhole swallowed up the truck around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday as he was plowing a street in the Breakley Park section of Lopatcong Township, Warren County, New Jersey, WFMZ reports.
According to WFMZ, officials said that the driver was able to escape the truck unharmed, but was still taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Tuesday afternoon, Lopatcong Township announced on its Facebook page that the truck had been removed from the sinkhole and crews were working on fixing the sinkhole along with water and sewer lines.
Residents along the street who were affected by the sinkhole will receive water from a local fire company as the rebuilding process could take several days, the township said.
