Though not as strong as the last storm to wreak havoc on New England, a snowstorm will pass through parts of the Northeast and New England Saturday night into Sunday. Two of the hardest hit locations will include Boston and Portland, Maine.
"This will be a nuisance snow for Boston as rain mixes in with the snow during the first half of tonight. Approximately 2-4 inches of snow will be common in the city with lesser amounts on the South Shore and on the Cape," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
The storm could produce up to six inches of snow north and west of Boston, making for slippery, dangerous travel.
"Travel will be much more difficult farther north and west across the interior," Edwards said.
"Mostly snow will fall in Portland with the heaviest falling during the day on Sunday," Edwards said. "Accumulations will average 4-8 inches with the highest amounts farther inland."
Travel will be impacted beginning tonight along I-95 and continuing through Sunday.
