Kyle Busch lost control of his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota just past the halfway point of the Daytona 500, hitting the wall after a rear tire failed entering Turn 3.

The contact knocked the 2015 series champion out of the race and collected Dale Earnhardt Jr., Erik Jones Matt Kenseth and Ty Dillon with him.

"I feel horrible for those guys," said Busch, who won stage 1 of the race. "But nothing we did wrong. Goodyear just can't build tires that hold air. … That's so disappointing."

The incident took out several of the top contenders and was the first significant incident of the race.
