Raul Lopez and Pablo Velazquez both netted a brace on Sunday as Toluca rolled to a convincing 7-1 thrashing of Atlante, climbing to third place in the process.

Paulo Da Silva opened the scoring just four minutes into the match and Lopez collected his first of the day in the 17th minute for a quick two-goal margin.

Wilson Mathias made it 3-0 for Toluca on the stroke of halftime and Ezequiel Miralles pulled one back for Atlante two minutes after the break to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Lopez completed his brace with a penalty kick in the 50th minute and Isaac Brizuela added a goal 20 minutes later to make it 5-1. Velazquez finished the rout with a quick double in stoppage time as the club used the result to climb to third in the table with 20 points, five behind leaders America, while Atlante has just one win this season.

Also in Mexico on Sunday, Matias Alustiza and Carlos Sanchez scored to lead Puebla to a 2-0 win over Tijuana, while Guadalajara and Atlas battled to a 1-1 draw.

Saturday's action saw Mariano Pavone score the only goal as Cruz Azul topped Leon by a 1-0 score, while Rubens Sambueza netted the winner in a 1-0 result for America over Veracruz.

UNAM posted 1-0 victory against Monterrey, while Aviles Hurtado scored the winner seven minutes from time in a 2-1 Jaguares win over Pachuca.

On Friday, Carlos Salcido scored 14 minutes from time to rescue a point for Tigres in a 2-2 draw with Queretaro, while 10-man Santos earned a comfortable 3-1 victory against Morelia.
