Will Power of Australia broke his own track record in dominating both practices for IndyCar's Sao Paulo 300 on Saturday.

Power has won all three previous races on this track and is dubbed the "King of Sao Paulo."

He set a record lap time of 1 minute, 20.925 seconds on the Anhembi street circuit. He edged defending IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay by 0.076, and EJ Viso of Venezuela by 0.296.

Power also led the morning session, beating Josef Newgarden of the United States and Sebastien Bourdais of France. Helio Castroneves, the points leader and home-crowd favorite, was fifth fastest.

Tony Kanaan was 10th after driving with an injured right hand.

Qualifying at the 11-turn temporary street track is later Saturday.
