Ryan Broekhoff scored 15 points to lead five Valparaiso players in double figures as the Horizon League-leading Crusaders defeated Cleveland State 80-72 Saturday to sweep the season series.

Valparaiso (19-6, 9-2), which beat the Vikings 74-50 on Jan. 4, has won three straight games and nine of its last 10.

Kevin Van Wijk added 14 points, Bobby Capobianco 13 and Will Bogan and Erik Buggs had 10 apiece for the Crusaders. Valparaiso shot 60.9 percent from the field (14 of 23) in the first half to lead by as many as 18.

The Vikings (12-13, 4-7) could get no closer than nine in the second half until Bryn Forbes' fourth 3-pointer for the final margin.

The Crusaders scored 27 points off 17 Vikings turnovers.

Forbes, a freshman, scored a career-high 24 points, making 8 of 10 field goals and 4 of 4 free throws.

Cleveland State outrebounded Valparaiso 33-20.
