Wes Welker is focusing on his next catch, not the eight he needs to do what no NFL player has done.

The Patriots wide receiver would become the first player with five 100-catch seasons once he grabs those eight passes. His first chance comes Monday night when New England (9-3) is home against the Houston Texans (11-1). Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice are the only other players with four seasons of at least 100 receptions.

Welker says he might reflect on that once his career is over. But right now he's concentrating on how many catches he needs to help the Patriots win.

Welker leads the NFL with 92 catches after 12 in last Sunday's 23-16 win over the Miami Dolphins.
