JaKarr Sampson scored a career-high 20 points, including six straight in the second half that helped St. John's rally past Holy Cross 65-53 Wednesday.

The Red Storm (3-2) trailed 37-35 when D'Angelo Harrison hit a 3-pointer to give them the lead. Sampson followed with three straight baskets during a 9-2 run that put St. John's ahead 44-39 with 13 minutes left.

Harrison added 17 points and Phil Greene IV had 15 for the Red Storm, who had 10 blocks in the game, including six from Chris Obekpa.

Dave Dudzinski and Justin Burrell had 12 points apiece to lead Holy Cross, which shot just 30 percent in the second half after hitting 46.4 percent before the break.
