Ike Azotam and Garvey Young combined for 32 points and 17 rebounds as Quinnipiac knocked off Hartford 65-61 Saturday in each team's season opener.

Azotam led the charge with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Young grabbed eight boards and netted 15 points, including 11 points and both of the Bobcats' 3-pointers in the second half.

Hartford led by as many as six points in the second half, and was up 51-49 with 6:53 to play following Mark Nwakamma's two-point basket. Quinnipiac took the lead for good when Jamee Jackson sandwiched a pair of baskets around a two-point score by Azotam to overtake the deficit and put the Bobcats up 55-51 with 5:03 to play.

Two Nwakamma free-throw makes cut the deficit, but the Hawks never got closer than two points of the lead after that.

Nwakamma finished with 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting.
