Humberto Suazo bagged a brace to help Monterrey to a 2-1 win over Guadalajara on Sunday, extending the club's unbeaten run to four games.

Rafael Marquez Lugo gave Chivas the lead in the 17th minute, but Suazo answered in the second with two goals in the span on five minutes, scoring in the 57th and 62nd minutes with his second and third goals of the season.

Monterrey has not lost in league play since July 27 when it fell 1-0 to Morelia. Since then, the club has taken eight points from a possible 12.

Guadalajara, suffering its first loss since July 29, sits four points shy of Monterrey with just five points through six games.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Osvaldo Martinez handed Atlas its first loss of the season as his 42nd-minute strike gave Atlante a 1-0 home win, Mariano Pavone scored in the 70th minute to help Cruz Azul to a 1-0 road win over UNAM, and Diego De Buen scored early to see Puebla claim a 1-0 defeat of San Luis.

Saturday's Apertura action saw Tijuana take a 1-0 win over Club America, Tigres held to a 1-1 draw by Toluca, and Santos play to a 0-0 draw with Pachuca.

And on Friday, Morelia edged Leon 3-1 despite playing the final 30 minutes with 10 men and Jaguares received a late own goal to get a 2-1 win over 10-man Queretaro.
