Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Jeff Niemann left Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays after the first inning.

Niemann gave up a single and a walk in the first inning, then took a line drive off his right foot from Adam Lind. Niemann got Lind out at first then, after getting checked by a trainer, retired Edwin Encarnacion

He came out for the second inning and started to warm up, but was removed after talking with the trainer and manager Joe Maddon. Cesar Ramos took over duties on the hill.

Coming into the game, Niemann was 2-3 with a 3.48 earned run average in six starts.
