Tempe, AZ – Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL Draft.
Burfict said he plans to return to ASU to finish his degree, but the 6-foot-3, 250-pound linebacker will not wear a Sun Devils uniform again after recording 69 tackles and five sacks in 2011.
"I cherish the memories and great times I had as a student-athlete at ASU and I hope to make the university proud of my future accomplishments on and off the field," Burfict said on Tuesday.
Burfict was the Pac-10 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2009 and totaled 90 tackles in his sophomore season.
