Sun Devils LB Burfict to enter draft

Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL Draft.

Burfict said he plans to return to ASU to finish his degree, but the 6-foot-3, 250-pound linebacker will not wear a Sun Devils uniform again after recording 69 tackles and five sacks in 2011.

"I cherish the memories and great times I had as a student-athlete at ASU and I hope to make the university proud of my future accomplishments on and off the field," Burfict said on Tuesday.

Burfict was the Pac-10 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2009 and totaled 90 tackles in his sophomore season.
