The NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed on a list of eight players who could be suspended for incidents during the lockout under the league's personal conduct policy, Yahoo! Sports reported Saturday, citing sources.
The players involved were Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib, Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, Patriots defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, Cardinals linebacker Clark Haggans, the Bengals' Cedric Benson and Adam "Pacman" Jones and the Packers' Brandon Underwood and Johnny Jolly.
The players were reportedly named in a letter from NFL attorney Jeff Pash to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith and at least four of them did not know the NFLPA had agreed to the provision on their behalf.
Benson is the only player facing discipline, with Yahoo! reporting earlier this week that the running back had been notified of a three-game ban, pending Tuesday's appeal, after being cited for two misdemeanor assault charges.
Talib and Britt both met with league commissioner Roger Goodell before the start of the season and escaped suspension, while it was reported in August that the NFL would take no action against Haynesworth regarding an incident involving a waitress in Washington, D.C.
It was not known why Haggans was on the memo, as he was not known to have been arrested during the lockout and did not have a history of bad behavior.
As for the other three, Jolly has been indefinitely suspended by the NFL for a second arrest in three years for drug possession, Underwood suffered a knee injury in training camp and is yet to play this season, while Jones is on the physically unable to perform list with a neck injury.
