Arkansas Dem running for governor files complaint against party for 'unfair treatment'

An Arkansas Democratic candidate for governor reportedly filed a complaint against her state and local party after they allegedly barred her from speaking at an upcoming political dinner.

Dr. Lynette Bryant also claims that the chairman of the state party even introduced Mike Ross, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, as "the next governor of Arkansas" at a separate event, according to KATV.com.

Bryant, a substitute teacher and education advocate who is black, filed her complaints with the NAACP and Democratic National Committee, claiming to have been subjected to "unfair treatment."

According to KATV.com, Arkansas Democratic Party Director Candace Martin released a statement clarifying that the party "does not endorse" in primaries. She claimed Bryant was invited to speak at a recent state committee meeting -- though Bryant says she was barred from speaking at an upcoming Saline County Jefferson Jackson Dinner.
