Welsh police on Wednesday confirmed that a body recovered from the sea in south Wales is that of missing Glasgow teenager Hollie McClymont.

The 14-year-old disappeared on Sunday after getting into difficulties in the water at the resort of Barry Island.

Her body was found at Fontygary in the Vale of Glamorgan on Wednesday afternoon.

Her family, with whom she was on holiday, has been informed.

"Our thoughts are with Hollie's family at this difficult time," said Chief Inspector Marc Lamerton.

"I would like to thank the community of Barry and the media for their support throughout this incident."
