The Miami Heat signed shooting guard Roger Mason, Jr. to a contract on Friday.

The 33-year-old journeyman has spent his last four seasons in different cities and will begin his 10th NBA season with his seventh different team.

Mason played in 69 games for New Orleans in 2012-13, averaging 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in a reserve role.

The veteran is five years removed from his best statistical campaign, when he made 71 starts and compiled 11.8 points per game during his first of two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs.

Mason holds lifetime averages of 6.5 points and 1.8 rebounds over the course of his career. He has also played for Chicago, Toronto, Washington and New York.
