Jesualdo Ferreira will take charge of Braga for his second stint after he was confirmed as the club's new manager.

Ferreira previously served as Braga boss from 2003-06, and he replaces Jose Pereiro, who helped the team win its first major trophy in 47 years with a Portuguese League Cup title this past season.

However, Braga's fourth-place finish in the league saw the team miss out on a Champions League place, which looks to have been the decisive blow.

The 67-year-old Ferreira has a wealth of experience in the Portuguese league having managed at Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto, where he won three successive league titles and two Portuguese Cups.

Ferreira served as interim manager at Sporting from January to the end of this past season.
