1 (31) - Travis Frederick, OC, Wisconsin; 2 (47) - Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State; 3 (74) - Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor; 3 (80) J.J. Wilcox, FS, Georgia Southern; 4 (114) - B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary; 5 (151) - Joseph Randle, RB, Oklahoma State; 6 (185) - DeVonte Holloman, OLB, South Carolina

Top Picks Analysis: Frederick is a nice player but the Cowboys were clearly honing in on defensive tackle Sylvester Williams and got a little too smart for their own good by trading down. Frederick had a second- or third-round grade from most. Typical Jerry Jones, who wants to be the smartest guy in every room but all the money in the world can't buy you that. Escobar is a lengthy receiving threat at tight end with an impressive catching radius but he lacks great speed and won't stretch the defense down the seam. Terrance Williams has great size and put together excellent numbers at Baylor but lacks elite speed.

Best Value Pick: Webb has the footwork, quickness and anticipation to be an excellent slot corner as well as a solid return man

Questionable Calls: Frederick will probably spend a decade as a starter in North Texas but the 'Boys could have gotten both him and Sylvester Williams if they weren't so greedy.

Summary: Jones deserves to be graded down for hubris alone but he did make some solid picks also. Yes, Frederick was taken too early but he projects as a long-time starter at the pivot, while Escobar, Williams, Webb and Holloman were excellent value picks.
