PGA Tour Canada announced seven dates for the 2013 season on Thursday.

The schedule will kick off June 3 with the 30th playing of the Times Colonist Island Savings Open. After a week off, the tour will continue with the ATB Financial Classic in Calgary, AB.

Three tournaments will make up the July portion of the slate, with the Dakota Dunes Open kicking off the run on Canada Day (July 1). The Syncrude Boreal Open and the Players Cup will follow in successive weeks.

In September, the tour will return to Atlantic Canada after a 12-year hiatus for the inaugural Cape Breton Celtic Classic in Nova Scotia. Later in the month, the season will conclude with the Tour Championship.

At least one additional event will be announced later this year.

"This is a very solid starting point for our schedule," said PGA Tour Canada President Jeff Monday. "Our goal is to provide our members with quality events with long-term commitments, which leave a lasting impact in the communities we play and we feel we are well on our way to achieving those goals. We are working on several opportunities to increase the number of events not only this year but in 2014."

The top five players on the Order of Merit at season's end will earn playing status for the 2014 Web.com Tour -- the top player will receive exempt status for the season. Numbers 6-10 on the Order of Merit will be exempt into the final stage of the 2013 Web.com Tour Q School.

"Over the past 23 years, the Web.com Tour has been the path to the PGA Tour for a number of Canadian players," said Web.com Tour president Bill Calfee. "With an exciting new era in PGA Tour qualifying upon us, we look forward to watching the talent develop on PGA Tour Canada, and ultimately watching them compete for the 50 PGA Tour cards on the Web.com Tour."
