Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson, Chicago Blackhawks left winger Viktor Stalberg, and Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending January 15.

Anderson was awarded the first star after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.98 goals-against average and a .970 save percentage in three appearances. Anderson began the week with a 29-save performance against the Penguins and followed it with a phenomenal 34-save effort to record his 17th shutout of his career against the New York Rangers. Anderson capped his week with another 33-save outing against the Montreal Canadiens on Jan. 14. Anderson, who received NHL Third Star honors last week, holds a 23-12-4 record this season in his 41 appearances and leads all NHL goaltenders in games, shots faced (1,219) and saves (1,106).

Stalberg recorded his first career hat trick, including the game-winner, in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets last Tuesday on his way to earning the second star award. He followed his superb performance with a second consecutive game-winner as the Blackhawks again won 5-2, this time against the Minnesota Wild. He rounded out his week with a one-goal, one-assist game in yet another Chicago win against the San Jose Sharks. Stalberg, who tied for the League lead in goals this week, already has a career high in goals (14), assists (14), and points (28).

Malkin secured the third star by leading the league in points (seven) and tying Stalberg for the lead in goals (five). Malkin scored the only goal in a blowout loss to Ottawa to start the week, and followed that up with a game-winning goal three nights later in a 4-1 triumph over the Florida Panthers. Malkin capped his week with a five-point outburst against the Lightning. Malkin notched his second hat trick this year, and added two assists to move him into second place in the NHL's scoring race with 51 points in 37 games.
