B.J. Daniels threw two touchdown passes and ran 24 victory over UTEP.
Daniels completed 15-of-24 passes for 202 yards, while Darrell Scott, Victor Marc and Demetris Murray added rushing touchdowns.
Lindsey Lamar caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulls (4-0), who enjoyed their final tune up before opening Big East play at Pittsburgh on Thursday.
"I think offensively it was a really solid performance, I could nitpick and grab a thing here or there, but I thought it was a really solid performance," USF head coach Skip Holtz said.
Carson Meger, playing in place of the injured Nick Lamaison, completed 26- of-40 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns, but threw three interceptions.
Kevin Perry and Anthony McGhee both caught touchdowns passes for the Miners (2-2), who return to Conference USA play on Thursday against Houston. They are 0-1 against league foes following a 28-17 loss to SMU on September 10.
"You can take good things out of every game whether you win or lose. And that's what we're going to try to do," Meger said.
Daniels didn't hesitate to put his stamp on the game, ripping off a 71-yard touchdown run on the Bulls' first possession.
Vernon Frazier gave the Miners a boost, however, returning the ensuing kickoff 67-yards to the USF 33-yard line. Leilyon Myers capitalized with a game-tying touchdown plunge.
South Florida reestablished the lead with a 10-play, 78-yard scoring drive, which was capped by Scott's three-yard touchdown run. The Bulls carried a 21-7 advantage into the second quarter courtesy of Murray's goal line touchdown burst.
Early in the second, UTEP responded with an impressive 88-yard drive. Meger's 24-yard touchdown strike to McGhee made it a 21-14 contest, but Marc extinguished the Miners' momentum, reeling off a 67-yard touchdown run on the Bulls' next play from scrimmage.
Dakota Warren missed a 32-yard field goal on UTEP's ensuing drive, but was good from 24 yards before the half.
Maikon Bonani hit a 38-yarder earlier in the second quarter for the Bulls, who led 31-17 at the break.
Meger was intercepted by Kayvon Webster early in the third quarter and again South Florida's big-play ability reared its head, as Daniels connected with Lamar for a 54-yard catch-and-run TD and a 38-17 lead.
Meger showed his mettle, however, with a 25-yard scoring strike to Perry on the Miners' next possession.
The success was short-lived, as Meger tossed two interceptions in the fourth quarter. The first, by Ricardo Dixon, resulted in an 18-yard touchdown pass from Daniels to Lamar. The second was returned for a 30-yard touchdown by Sam Barrington, capping the scoring.
