It didn't take long for Carlos Arroyo to find a new home.

The veteran point guard, who was unceremoniously dumped by the Miami Heat last week, has signed with the Boston Celtics.

He will join his new team on Monday.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers says that Arroyo will join the team on Monday. Arroyo, who is Puerto Rico and a part-time Reggaeton musician, will be expected to provide veteran depth and shore up the guard position for a group that's missing five players.

The Heat waived Arroyo on Tuesday to make room for Mike Bibby. Arroyo, a nine-year NBA veteran of six different teams before Boston, made 42 starts for Miami, averaging 6.4 points and 2.2 assists per game this season.

Bibby only played 11 minutes in the Heat's emotional loss to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. He had no assists and committed three turnovers.
