Former first lady Nancy Reagan on Monday celebrated her 94th birthday.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation released a statement, along with photos, saying she celebrated the occasion at home with friends.

The party included a tiered cake, "decorated with cascading peonies, her favorite garden flower."

The former first lady married Ronald Reagan in 1952. She was first lady of California when her husband was governor, and was first lady of the U.S. from 1981 to 1989.

She has continued to work with the Reagan Presidential Library since her husband's death.
