Hundreds of Mexican immigrants are being allowed to cross the U.S. border in San Diego and get asylum by giving "key words and phrases" to border officials, MyFoxPhoenix reports citing unnamed sources.

The station reports just last Monday about 200 people crossed the border claiming there was a "credible fear" of drug cartels.

"They are being told if they come across the border, when they come up to the border and they say certain words, they  will be allowed into the country," the source tells MyFoxPhoenix.com.  "We are being overwhelmed."

One immigration expert says this "huge loophole" in the system has the potential to allow even more illegal immigrants into the U.S.

"There has to be a policy change, something implemented, an emergency implementation that will stop this, or otherwise we will have thousands coming in," Pete Nunez, a former U.S. Attorney and immigration expert tells MyFoxPhoenix.com.
