Kimberly Guilfoyle is inside the courtroom of abortion provider Kermit Gosnell's murder trial.

Stay tuned to this page for LIVE coverage as Kimberly tweets/blogs the latest, and tune in to 'The Five' at 5pm when she tells us what happened.

Second witness is from medical examiner's office - he is the one who observed the samples - 47 specimens in all that crime scene techs, etc. sent from the clinic.

Specimens ranged from feet to legs to almost fully intact fetuses. To explain the callousness of Gosnell, the prosecution made a point to have the medical examiner witness explain that Gosnell kept these specimens in containers ranging from a cherry-limeade cup to a cat food container.

Even of the specimens he observed that weren't in the third trimester, the medical examiner said there were a few that were deemed "viable" meaning even without medical care they could've survived.

So, at the top the judge came out and mentioned the increased media attention to the case -- reiterated that there is an intense gag order. Total reporters here looks to be in the 15-20 range... apparently was around 3-4 for the weeks prior.

Gosnell talks to his defense lawyer often and took notes almost constantly.

First witness was 30 year veteran OBGYN - his recomended dosage for an anthestetic was 1/5000th what Gosnell apparently gave to the woman who died at his office. (1mg vs 5 grams)

Jury makeup - 16 jurors (4 of whom are alternates)

Breakdown: Sex (8 men, 8 women), race (8black, 8 white), age (about 5-6 seem sub 40, otherwise all older)

Will probably have another dispatch in an hour.

(12:25) Additionally - the lawyers and judge had a sidebar in the back - the reporters around us commented on how that was a first - all other sidebars had been in the courtroom (again the increase in media)

Which news organizations were in court this AM?

Fox News, Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal in addition to local reporters.

Defense attorneys at the table waiting for jurors and judge to come in, prosecutors at the table. Press box has four people, two from FOX.

Security very tight. Secondary security and scanners outside courtroom door. You only see this on big profile trials where there is a security concern.

Went through security downstairs and again on 3rd floor outside courtroom 304. Big board blown up with pictures of the all the people involved with title, "Women's Medical Center" at the top... top picture is of Kermit Gosnell.
