Kellogg's recalls Keebler, Famous Amos cookies for undeclared peanut residue

Kellogg Company recalled more than 20 products on Monday because they may contain undeclared peanut residue. Those items include Kellogg’s Keebler and Famous Amos cookies.

In a recall posted on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website, the Battle Creek, Mich.-based company said the recall stemmed from a previous recall by its supplier, Grain Craft, of wheat flour that has the potential to contain low levels of peanut residue.

Individuals with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products, but the FDA said it does not anticipate adverse health effects in the “vast majority of peanut allergic customers” because the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low.
