It looks like Conor McGregor will get a second shot at Nate Diaz at UFC 200.

Following the biggest pay-per-view in UFC history at UFC 196 in March it appears the promotion is doubling down on the same fight for the historic event set to take place July 9 in Las Vegas at the new T-Mobile Arena.

According to a report via MMAFighting, a rematch between McGregor and Diaz is in the works as the headline fight for the historic UFC 200 event.

UFC officials have yet to confirm the fight or make any official announcement.

Diaz defeated McGregor just a few weeks ago when he accepted the fight on less than two weeks notice and ultimately finished the featherweight champion with a second round rear naked choke.

McGregor was originally expected to face lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos on the card but the Brazilian suffered a broken foot in the days leading up to the fight so he was replaced by Diaz.

If McGregor faces Diaz at welterweight for a second time at UFC 200, the featherweight title goes on hold once again while the promotion looks at a super fight rematch to headline the biggest card of the year.

Both Frankie Edgar and former champion Jose Aldo were rumored as McGregor's next opponents but it appears the UFC has opted to go a different direction with the Diaz rematch instead.
