Jake Odum scored 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting, helping Indiana State beat Division II foe Truman State 70-57 on Saturday in the first-ever meeting between the schools.

RJ Mahurin added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Sycamores (2-1), who took control near the end of a back-and-forth first half and never trailed after halftime. Indiana State shot 56 percent from the floor in the second half, outrebounded Truman State 35-26 for the game and scored 32 points in the paint to Truman State's 16.

Isaac Gardner had 15 points for the Bulldogs, who treated the game as an exhibition and will not include the loss in their record. Mike Carlson and Cory Myers added 10 points apiece.

Indiana State improved to 28-1 over the past three seasons when holding its opponent to 63 points or fewer.
