James Kamte rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Dawie Van der Walt and win the BMG Classic.

Kamte fired an eight-under 64 at Glendower Golf Club in the final round, but Van der Walt did one better as he closed with a 63. The duo ended at nine- under-par 207.

Back on the par-four 18th for the playoff, Van der Walt left himself 25 feet for birdie. He was unable to convert that, then watched Kamte drain his 10- footer for birdie and the win.

The victory was Kamte's fourth on the Sunshine Tour, but first since winning the 2008 Metmar Highveld Classic.

"I've been battling injury for a long time," admitted Kamte, who hurt his knee and his wrist shortly after an Asian Tour win in 2009. "I really just had to give it time, and that was very difficult to do."

Shaun Norris posted a four-under 68 Sunday to take third place at minus-eight. Brandon Pieters also had a 68 and ended alone in fourth at seven-under 209.

Second-round leader Bradford Vaughan stumbled to a six-over 78 to slide into a share of 20th at even-par 216.
