One player who was thrilled to hear the Rams were moving from St. Louis to Los Angeles was defensive end William Hayes.

Did he just want some fun in the sun? Not exactly.

Hayes firmly believes that mermaids exist and is convinced that the team's move to the West Coast gives him a better chance of seeing one in person.

"Will Hayes absolutely believes and is totally convinced that there are mermaids and they do exist," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said on "Hard Knocks". "As a matter of fact, I remember him getting really excited about the potential for moving out here because he knew he would be closer to mermaids here on the West Coast."

If that isn't enough, Hayes also believes that dinosaurs are a figment of everyone's imagination.

"He thinks archaeologists place bones underground like a parent would place Easter eggs," former teammate Chris Long said last year. "They just planted them. It's some large conspiracy. He does not believe that dinosaurs ever existed and he thinks that mermaids are real. I love dinosaurs, so we have a big point of contention."

So if you're keeping score, Hayes is on board with the existence of mermaids but refuses to believe dinosaurs walked the earth.

"I just can't fathom a T-rex walking around here, something man ain't never seen," Hayes said.
