Today, we look back at moment No. 6, when the Patriots stunned the football world in Super Bowl XXXVI.
Thirty-one years had passed since a Super Bowl was decided by a game-winning field goal in the final seconds before New England's Adam Vinatieri ended that streak.
The Patriots kicker raised his arms in triumph before his 48-yard kick crossed between the uprights as time expired in the Louisiana Superdome.

The kick was set up by more clutch play by second-year quarterback Tom Brady, who completed five passes to put Vinatieri in position to become a Patriots legend.
