Chalk it up to an inexperienced offensive line or injuries in the backfield.

Either way you spin it, the Rams rushing attack has struggled through two weeks.

Benny Cunningham, third on the depth chart, started Week 1; Tre Mason, who sat out the season opener, returned in Week 2; Todd Gurley is still recovering from injury.

Despite a 1-1 record, the Rams rank 26th in the league in rushing yards per game (71.5).

In Week 2 against the Redskins, the team only managed 67 rushing yards, with 40 of them coming from Tavon Austin.

"It's a team game," Mason said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "If one man doesn't do his job then a whole play can go wrong. We just need to get back to practice, work on the little things, the little details, and get things corrected."

As it stands now, it is the entire Rams offense that likely needs some fixing, not just the run game.

So much of the attention this offseason centered around the Rams plan to pound the ball in drafting players for the offensive line and a potential franchise back in Gurley.

The team will need to be patient to see if that scenario works out once Gurley finally returns to action.
