You know what they say, a win is a win, right? Well, the Carolina Panthers are heading back to Charlotte with a 1-0 record after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-9 on Sunday.
To make things even more interesting, Black and Blue Review reported through their official Twitter an interesting stat about Newton's 71.3 passer rating.
It's obviously not the end of the world, but the Panthers still have some work to do offensively. That almost goes without saying though, after you lose your No. 1 receiver in Kelvin Benjamin for the entire 2015 season.
Newton finished up the day 18-of-31 passing for 175 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Passer rating aside, Newton also rushed 14 times for 35 yards.
