Jerry Rice is a big fan of Jarryd Hayne.

The 49ers great penned an open letter heaping praise on the former rugby star and believes he has the tools needed to succeed in the NFL.

Rice stated Hayne has an "x-factor" about him and is "excited" to see what he can do for the team come fall.

It's quite the praise coming from the Hall of Famer.

Hayne's role for the 49ers remains unclear heading into Week 1, but it looks like he has a ton of support, which should only help him as he makes the transition to the pro game.
