Ames, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Natasha Howard tallied 10 points and 13 rebounds, as the 10th-seeded Florida State Seminoles toppled the seventh- seeded Iowa State Cyclones, 55-44, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Hilton Coliseum.

Yashira Delgado also scored 10 points while handing out six assists for FSU (21-11), which will take on Stanford in the second round. Ivey Slaughter added 13 rebounds to the winning effort.

For Iowa State (20-11), which shot a season-low 25.4 percent from the field (including 7-of-38 from 3-point range), Hallie Christofferson led all scorers with 13 points, while Brynn Williamson and Jadda Buckley netted 12 and 10 points, respectively.

FSU ran out to a 30-18 halftime lead after shooting 50 percent from the field in the opening stanza, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Iowa State, meanwhile, made good on less than 18 percent of its tries from the floor.

The Seminoles never relinquished the lead in the second half and kept the Cyclones at bay by shooting 9-of-14 at the line over the final 20 minutes.

FSU earned a 44-30 edge in the rebounding battle, which helped mask a game- high 25 turnovers.
