The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with forward Lennart Petrell on a one-year contract extension.

Petrell had four goals and five assists in 60 games for the Oilers last season. It was his first year in the National Hockey League after spending the previous seven seasons with HIFK Helsinki-Finland in the SM-liiga league.

The 28-year-old Petrell was originally selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the sixth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
