The famous bathroom scene from “Psycho” became real life on Monday when a popular Texas high school football player was stabbed by a neighbor while he showered.

According to the NY Daily News, 21-year-old Pedro Sanchez reportedly walked into Tyler Wade’s family home in Tomball, Texas wearing rubber gloves and holding a baseball bat. Police said he is also holding a knife.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Wade’s 12-year-old sister saw Sanchez go up the stairs to the bathroom before repeatedly stabbing her older bother with a knife. She then went to a neighbor’s home for help.

KHOU-TV reported that the neighbor, only identified as an off-duty firefighter, rushed to Wade’s home with a gun to confront Sanchez. He then shot and killed Sanchez after the 21-year-old allegedly lunged at him.

Wade was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt. Cedrick Collier told reporters that Sanchez’s motive to kill Wade was unknown, yet the killing did not appear to be random.

Tomball Memorial High School held a small vigil to honor Wade outside the school on Tuesday.

“He was a really nice guy,” said Maya Avila to KHOU-TV. “Everyone knew him as helpful. He was always a happy spirit.”

“We are saddened that Tyler Wade, a student at Tomball Memorial High School, passed away yesterday,” the school district spokeswoman Staci Stanfield said in a statement. “Additional counselors are available for our students and staff as they grieve this unfortunate loss. Please keep Tyler’s family, friends, classmates and teachers in your thoughts during this time.”
